Music is my calling
Music Industry Professional & Community Builder
I have extensive experience in marketing, talent buying, event planning, and promotion. I thrive on collaborating with creative individuals and am driven by meaningful work that enriches local communities and music scenes.
Education
I hold a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in English from the University of Houston and an MBA with a concentration in Digital Media Management from St. Edward's University. While pursuing my MBA, I served as Chief Social Officer of the MBA Student Association, producing community events with partners like IBM Watson, Morgan Stanley, JDI, Localeur, and Pushermania.
Experience
My journey in the music industry began in Atlanta, where I served as a paralegal intern for F. Michelle Simpson, who encouraged me to build trust and relationships through volunteering and interning. This advice led me to work with several festivals across the South, including A3C, FPSF, and Austin Psych Fest, eventually securing paid roles like a Festival Marketing Associate for Sound on Sound Fest.
I've held diverse positions, such as a Marketing and Business Development Intern at Front Gate Tickets, a College Marketing Manager, and an Operations Intern at Transmission Events—the team behind prominent concerts and festivals like Fun Fun Fun Fest. I have also consulted with promoters and creative businesses, including ODD HOURS and Dinolion, a boutique production company, specializing in executing and strategizing their branding and marketing efforts.
Experience Continued
Under the mentorship of Jason McNeely and Brian Tweedy, partners at Hotel Vegas and Barracuda, I immersed myself in the Austin music scene, contributing to major events like SXSW, LEVITATION, and Hot Luck.
In 2013, I founded Noise Pollution, a music promotion and booking agency in Houston, where I led successful public relations campaigns with impactful imagery. Noise Pollution operated until June 2021, when I joined forces with Joe Smyth and others to co-found Nicely Done Co-Op. During the pandemic, I also served on several subcommittees with the Union of Musicians and Allied Workers, advocating for musicians’ rights.
I became the Marketing Manager at Motorco Music Hall in Durham, NC, where I proudly curated LFG Fest—an intimate festival showcasing a diverse mix of music genres while spotlighting advocacy organizations.
Looking forward, my vision is to expand the LFG! Fest brand. Additionally, I recently organized the National Cheese Pizza Day Party at Kings in Raleigh, NC, during the Hopscotch Festival, an independent celebration alongside the official event.
As of January 2024, I am open to new opportunities in project management, event production, talent buying, and marketing roles.
Personal
Bass guitar and double bass are my main instruments, and I've had the pleasure of playing in a variety of musical groups. I write original music whenever inspiration strikes and enjoy experiencing live music as often as I can.
Outside of work, I spend time with my family and four cats. I unwind by reading, watching anime, catching up with friends over coffee, and building meaningful connections.
Work with me
I bring a unique blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and dedication to every project. With extensive experience in marketing, talent buying, event planning, and community building, I have a proven track record of delivering results while fostering positive relationships. I thrive in collaborative environments, value diverse perspectives, and am passionate about creating meaningful experiences that make an impact. My approach is both innovative and detail-oriented, ensuring that every initiative is not only well-executed but also aligned with the larger goals of the organization.
